Sagafilm nominated for two awards at the Icelandic Marketing Awards

Mr. Bjarnfredarson shows no signs of slowing down. After winning almost every award it could at the Icelandic Film and Television Awards further accolades are now presenting themselves as the film's poster is nominated for an Icelandic Marketing Award (IMA) for "Poster of the Year".

It's the first time Sagafilm is nominated for graphic design at the IMA's, as the category is usually monopolised by advertising agencies.  The poster depicts a large mosaic of Mr. Bjarnfredarson screaming at a younger version of himself.  Each mosaic tile represents a scene from the movie so, it could be argued that the whole movie is in the poster.  The mosaic tiles are crumbling and falling from the wall as the child observes.  This is representative of the narrative of the film, a redemption story which reveals the true self of Mr. Bjarnfredarson through peeling back the layers of a persona though his flashbacks into a troubled childhood.

Sagafilms other nomination goes to SagaEvents which produced a 3 day event designed to promote Channel 2's hit show The Prison Shift.  A prison cell was set up in Reykjavík's most popular mall and the public was invited to apply to enter the cell for 60 hours.  10 were chosen out of 1500 applicants and all served their time, except one who gave up after the first night.  Various games which awarded the "inmates" points were played and the event was covered by virtually all media in the country.  The promotion was a huge success for Channel 2 which sold TV subscriptions by the cell.  The Prison Shift is one of the channel's best rated show to date.
