Bubbi's band is a 13 episode series that covers Bubbi's search for a talented rocksinger. First we are taken on a tour around Iceland where we get to see people attend auditions and hear Bubbi's story's of when he was a migrant worker and then later when he became a well known rock star. After the audition process Bubbi chooses the 10 contestants who will compete against each other in 8 live episodes to become the lead singer in Bubbi's band. A judges panel consisting of Björn Jörundur, Villi Naglbítur and of course Bubbi himself commands 50% of the votes against viewers tele-voting. Bubbi sends the contender with the lowest number of votes home at the end of each episode and for the rest of the contenders the battle resumes every week until only one remains as the winner. The house band plays a large part in the show and is composed of a well known icelandic artists. The host of the show is the former Miss Universe, Unnur Birna Vilhjálsdóttir.
